Cynar takes its name from the Latin for artichoke, and is comprised of thirteen different plants and herbs. Created in 1952 by Venetian philanthropist Angelo Dalle Molle, the liqueur gained popularity in the 1960s. The higher proof Cynar 70 is a balance between old school amaro and a more intense alpine-style amaro. Dark brown color with savory herbal and earthy vegetal, eucalyptus, and menthol notes. Known ingredients include: artichoke. 32.5% abv.
